Kim Carpenter’s Art for the Theatre

There is a wonderful kind of youthful fresh spontaneity about Kim's work ... It hasn't been run through the terrible mill of endless analysis, and too much rigour, which tends to drain the life out of things. Instead it is fresh and fruity – and honest.

Kim Carpenter’s exhibition, Art for the Theatre, is a survey of works Carpenter has drawn over 25 years, with drawings and paintings of storyboards, characters, production ideas and 3D models of his fantastical stage creations: underwater dragons, spider spirits, blind cats drawn for and from shows Carpenter often adapted, designed and at times directed.
